Dr. John J. DiGioia Jr. brings extensive experience and a deep commitment to patient-centered care as he joins Ocean Health Initiatives as an Internal Medicine provider. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Pennsylvania and earned his medical degree from the University of Rome Medical School after graduating from Liceo Scientifico Bramante in Todi, Italy. He went on to complete his Internal Medicine internship at Perth Amboy Medical Center and his residency at New York Medical College’s St. Vincent’s Hospital in New York City.

Prior to joining OHI, Dr. DiGioia practiced office-based Internal Medicine and provided comprehensive care through house call services with Clover Health, caring for some of New Jersey’s highest-need patients. His background also includes private practice in Jersey City, where he delivered care across multiple settings including office visits, emergency room coverage, home visits, and nursing home and rehabilitation medicine.

Dr. DiGioia is excited to begin this new chapter at OHI, where he looks forward to applying his extensive Internal Medicine knowledge and experience to deliver excellent, evidence-based care that improves patients’ lives. He values the personal connection in medicine and is passionate about making patients feel comfortable, cared for, and confident in their health journey.

Outside of medicine, Dr. DiGioia enjoys astronomy, chess, winemaking, cooking, and travel. He has been married to his wife, Victoria, for 27 years, and they are the proud parents of two grown sons.
