Ocean Health Initiatives, Inc. (OHI), in partnership with the Head Start development program of O.C.E.A.N., Inc., has announced that the OHI mobile medical unit will be visiting several local Head Start program sites this October to conduct dental exams, specifically for the children in Head Start programs. Dentist Dr. Patricia Gibbons will be conducting the dental exams for children in Head Start, a comprehensive preschool program for children ages 3 to 5, from disadvantaged families.
The OHI mobile medical unit will visit Head Start Program Sites in:
Toms River: Ocean County College, 1 College Drive
Mon. October 19 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Manchester: 2950 Wilbur Avenue
Tues. October 20 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Berkeley: 264 First Avenue
Tues. October 20 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Barnegat: 1 Ocean Avenue
Thurs. October 22 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Brick: 503 Adamston Road
Wed. October 28 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The OHI mobile medical unit brings medical and dental services to people who might not have the transportation. OHI offers comprehensive dental services at its Lakewood and Toms River health center sites. Dental services include general dentistry care, cleanings and screenings, routine checkups beginning at 12 months, fluoride treatments, sealants, extractions, x-rays, treatment of gum disease, and removal of decayed teeth. Late evening and Saturday hours are available.
