Exactly what free services are available for Ocean County’s uninsured and underinsured populations? In recognition of Minority Health Awareness Month, Ocean Health Initiatives (OHI), a federally qualified health center (FQHC), will be providing information on April 26, 27 and 28 at three of its health centers about health services such as Rapid HIV/AIDS Test, free pregnancy tests and screenings, and information on vaccinations and immunizations.
Staff in the Outreach and Enrollment Department at OHI will be present at information tables from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 26 in Lakewood, 101 Second Street; on Thursday, April 27 in Toms River at 301 Lakehurst Road; and Friday, April 28 in Little Egg Harbor at 798 Route 539. Building 3.
Minority Health Awareness Month has become a national movement to raise awareness of health disparities that affect minorities. “Bridging Health Equity across Communities,” this year’s theme, brings attention to the need to make sure everyone has the opportunity to be as healthy as possible.
OHI will give a promotional item to those who make an appointment for a free service or inquire about more information.
