OHI to Host a Blood Drive February 17

OHI (Ocean Health Initiatives), a federally qualified health center, is hosting a Blood Drive to benefit the Central Jersey Blood Center, Friday, February 17, 2017, in its Manchester and Toms River health centers.

Make appointments in advance to give blood from 9:00 a.m. to Noon at OHI’s Manchester Health Center, Lakehurst Circle Center II, 686 Route 70 Lakehurst; or from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. at OHI’s Toms River Health Center, 301 Lakehurst Road.

Donors must be healthy, at least 17 years old or be 16 with parental consent, weigh at least 120 pounds, and present a signature ID.  Remember to eat and drink plenty of fluids before donating blood.  Those with controlled high blood pressure, heart conditions, and diabetes can donate blood.

Deadline Extended for OHI’s Valentine Fundraiser Ad Journal

OHI (Ocean Health Initiatives), a federally qualified health center and 501 (c)(3), has extended the deadline to submit ads for its Valentines’ Day fundraiser ad journal. The deadline for sponsorships and ad journal proofs to be included in the ad journal is Wednesday, February 8, 2017. Send ad files to

Enjoy dinner, dancing, and an Alice in Wonderland themed Casino Night, Friday, February 10 from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m. at Eagle Oaks Golf and Country Club, 20 Shore Oaks Dr, Farmingdale, NJ 07727.  Tickets are $150 each and will support health care services for Ocean County children, adults, and seniors.

Sponsorships, donations, journal ads, and premium ticket packages are available, and are 100 percent tax deductible, excluding the cost of the dinner. For further information, tickets or sponsorships, contact Douglas Clark, marketing manager, at 732-719-9026.

All proceeds will benefit the efforts of OHI to improve the quality of life in the community through enhanced medical care services for people of all ages, regardless of their insurance or ability to pay. This includes, but is not limited to, better medical equipment, community outreach, educational materials, vaccinations, health awareness, and more.

OHI has been providing comprehensive primary and preventative care services to Ocean County’s uninsured and underinsured populations for the past 13 years. The increasing number of Ocean County families needing access to health care has resulted in OHI’s continued growth throughout Monmouth and Ocean counties.
